How It All Began
A few of the chapters that brought us here.
Volume 1
The First Message & Getting to Know Each Other
It all started with a short, online message in January 2023: "What is your favourite anime?" Not exactly the most romantic opening line, but it worked. What began with anime recommendations quickly turned into conversations about everything and nothing, daily mundane things, and late-night FaceTimes. Little did we know that one random question would lead us here.
Volume 2
From Online to In-Person
In May 2023, Mickey came to Vancouver and we finally met in person for the first time. Thankfully, neither of us was a catfish, and surprisingly, it wasn't too awkward. (Although we may disagree on that last part.)
Volume 3
Our Long Distance Journey
We decided to choose each other even if we knew it wasn't going to be easy. More late-night calls, counting down until the next visit, travelling to see each other, celebrating birthdays and holidays apart, and goodbyes at the airport for three years.
Volume 4
The Question
After three years of counting down the days until we could see each other, we finally got to look forward to something even bigger.
The distance was never the end of our story. It was simply part of the journey that brought us here.
